What it is actually for
It is easy to read a refund window as a marketing device. It has a more specific function than that, which is worth stating plainly.
No course page can tell you whether your child will use the course. We can describe the topics, the question bank, the practice and the tests. We cannot tell you whether a particular fifteen-year-old will open it on a Tuesday evening without being asked, and that behaviour is one of the strongest early signals of fit.
A week is enough to find out. That is the honest reason the window exists.
How to use the week well
- Do not supervise it. Prompted use tells you nothing.
- Watch whether the course is opened unprompted at least twice.
- Check whether questions are attempted before solutions are opened.
- Check whether at least one topical test gets taken.
- Ask them to explain one method, from memory, in four lines.
