Discover The Unique
OMT Math Curriculum
Odyssey Math Tuition offers an MOE-aligned math curriculum designed by founder Mr. Justin Tan (NUS Mathematics) for primary, secondary, and junior college students in Singapore. Lessons are taught in small groups at Hexacube, 160 Changi Road #01-02, Singapore 419728 — about 3 minutes from Eunos MRT — and supported by a 24/7 e-learning portal. A free trial is available.
Most curricula are written from the syllabus outwards. Ours was written from the confusion inwards — built around the specific places students reliably get stuck, and the explanations that actually get them unstuck. It covers the MOE syllabus in full, then adds the part textbooks tend to leave out: why the method works, not just how to execute it. See how it pairs with our physical math tuition classes and the 24/7 e-learning system.

Our Unique Curriculum Philosophy
A Curriculum Built for Real Understanding
Getting the right answer is the easy part to measure and the wrong thing to optimise for. A student who can produce an answer without understanding it will pass the topical test and fail the variation of it three months later. Our curriculum is built to make students genuinely understand how mathematics works:
- Designed to complement Singapore’s MOE syllabus
- Guided by the belief that students learn at different paces
- Focused on techniques, concept clarity, and exam readiness
Designed by Mr. Justin Tan

I built this curriculum not for exams, but for real understanding. I teach how I wished I was taught — clearly, simply, and with heart.
Why Our
Curriculum Stands Out
- OMT’s own style of Teaching
- Online Course Library
- Course Material
- Topical Practices
- Topical Tests
- Customer Care
- Study Tracker
- ELearning
-
- Elearning + Onsite
-
Developed by Mr. Justin Tan, with a double major in Math and Economics from NUS (Distinction) and teaching experience since 2012, ensuring a solid foundation.
Extensive library covering introductory videos, topical lessons, quizzes, practice papers, mock tests, and exam papers, addressing nearly all math concepts.
Every math problem is explained without skipping steps, using clear, concise methods, analogies, and engaging techniques to ensure understanding.
Designed from the perspective of a struggling student, making complex concepts accessible through simple explanations and relatable teaching methods.
Curriculum refined yearly based on student and parent feedback, keeping content relevant and effective.
Learn Anytime, Practice Anywhere
With OMT’s 24/7 E-Learning
Since 2020 we have built an online math tuition platform that carries the same material as our classes, so the teaching does not stop when the lesson ends. It lets students:
- Master topics via step-by-step videos
- Practise with curated worksheets and timed challenges
- Revisit concepts anytime — no pressure, no rush
The platform matters most in the gaps: the weeknight before a test, the topic from last year that suddenly reappears, the explanation that made sense in class and evaporated by Thursday. Everything can be replayed as often as needed, without asking anyone.

Our system is structured around a flow of learning — from concept to practice to timed revision. Consistency is key, and we incentivize progress through rewards.
Real-Life, Example-Driven Teaching
Making Math Relatable
Abstract ideas get easier the moment they attach to something a student already knows. So we teach through everyday comparisons — debt for negative numbers, sharing for ratio, distance and time for rate of change. Once a concept has a real-world anchor, students stop trying to memorise it and start reasoning with it, which is when the harder questions become approachable.
For Example
Instead of saying -3x - 2x = -5x, we ask, “If you borrow $3 today and $2 tomorrow, how much do you owe?” Students reply: $5. Then we link it back to algebra.
Personalized Learning Experience
Your Child’s Pace, Their Progress
Students do not all learn at the same speed, and a curriculum that ignores that simply loses the ones who need a second pass. Ours bends to the student rather than the other way round — which in practice means four commitments:
- We do not gatekeep materials
- We do not rush through concepts
- We do not neglect the emotional side of student learning
- We create a nurturing environment where students stay, grow, and succeed
Designed With Structure and Strategy
Whether a student learns with us online or hybrid with onsite support, the sequence stays the same: understand the concept, practise it properly, then find out honestly what has not stuck. That last step is the one most revision skips, and it is the one that turns effort into marks.
Book-Based Practice Questions
Additional drills reinforce understanding using textbook-style questions.
Repeat the process for next topic
Students move on only when ready, allowing for personalized learning.
Real Learning, Real Results
What makes OMT’s curriculum different is not really the topic list — every centre teaches the same syllabus. It is how and why we teach it, and the standards we hold ourselves to while doing it:
- We do not gatekeep materials
- We do not rush through concepts
- We do not neglect the emotional side of student learning
- We create a nurturing environment where students stay, grow, and succeed
Experience the Difference
The quickest way to judge a curriculum is to watch it being taught. View our class schedules and fees, book a free trial, or start straight away with the same syllabus in our online math courses.
